This is the 1981 Topps Baseball Complete Near Mint 726 card hand collated set, it was never issued in factory form. Card quality wasn't that great this year as many cards are off-centered but no collection is complete without it! Features rookie cards of Tim Raines, Fernando Valenzuela, Kirk Gibson and others plus Rickey Henderson's 2nd year card! The first thing you should do is sit down and write a list of things you love to do. In the past, you may have carefully many of these skills to be hobbies or recreation, but right now, you should look your list over carefully with an eye for wage opportunities.

For example, if your hobby is gardening, you can improve your garden and start selling fresh vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers at your local farmer's market, or even from a stand in your driveway. If you like gardening and crafts or cooking, you have even more opportunities. You can make wreaths and flower arrangements, dry flowers and herbs for sachets or potpourri, make your own pasta sauce or salsa, and many more possibilities.

Other hobbies originate other opportunities. Maybe you love to refurbish old cars, or make ceramics or handcrafted furniture. Maybe you gather dolls or stamps or baseball cards - could you sell them just as easily? Maybe there's nothing in the world you like good than curling up in front of All My Children with a bowl of popcorn. Could you start a blog of snarky-yet-affectionate episode reviews and make money from ad wage and affiliate sales of Dvds? Or could you put aside the popcorn and knit while you watch instead?

If you've had a good, hard look at your list of hobbies and you can't think of anything you can do to make money off them, sit down and write an additional one list. This time, list all the skills you possess - things you're surely good at or even just pretty good at, but capable of improving.

Maybe you were fired from your job as an accountant. Could you help your neighbors put in order their taxes or put in order house budgets for a fee? Are you a previous secretary with fingers that fly like the wind over the keyboard? How about a work from home data entry job?

Even the most insignificant seeming skills can originate opportunities. Approximately everybody knows how to drive, but very few people  think to go to a nursing home or assisted living factory and offer to shuttle residents to hair appointments, grocery stores, and trips to the movies for a small fee.

If you are out of work and getting desperate, examining your hobbies and skills in this way can help you feel good about yourself and give you something productive to do while your job hunt continues. At the very least, you can probably use your skills to barter for some goods and services your house needs. At the best, you may even be able to transform your popular hobbies and the skills you already possess into a new vocation and a full time income!
